PANIK
PANIK is a German rock band consisting of two members and established in 2002 from Timo Sonnenschein and David Bonk under the same name. PANIK unites perfectly rap elements with hard rock to achieve the so called Crossover genre. They combine the self-made music with strong lyrics in German. They do not experiment with other languages. And that’s why they have so exceptional style.
The number of the members and the structure of the band change over the years. They released their first official album as a sextet in 2007 under the name Nevata Tan.
The band had its first official performance at The Dome 41 in Mannheim, on March 2, 2007. The first album "Niemand hört dich" is sold in almost 100 000 copies, enters in Top 10 and stays 26 weeks in the charts. The band has also 1 Jetix award for "Coolest Live-Act" and 2 Echo nominations in "Best national rock/alternative artist/group" and "The most successful national newcomer" categories. Their debut album reaches a golden status in Russia.
On 20 January 2008, Nevada Tan announced that they officially return their old name PANIK because of differences with their management. The following single "Was würdest du tun" shows how the boys have grown in musical direction. The result is cool sound, strong lyrics and self-producing. The recognition doesn’t come late. "Killer Rock/Rap from Germany", says Mike Shinoda, the frontman of Linkin Park "I don’t know what they're saying, but the overall vibe is pretty solid".
PANIK made their comeback with the new street single "Jeder", followed by the official single "Lass mich fallen". The new album was released on 25th September. An album that offers emotional, as well as hard songs, variety of sounds and lyrics discussing the youth problems, environment and the politics. And everything produced by David and wrapped in the amazing album called "Panik".
It seemed that the band has finally proven that they are awesome musicians and have great talent for composing an amazing music. And then the news came... out of the blue. On 11.11 PANIK stated that the band "will not go on in this constellation and the tour in December will be the last tour in Germany". Four of the members left and now PANIK is just Timo and David. We wish them luck!
